Senior Software Engineer – Android

Role Overview

• Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices
• Develop innovative mobile technology solutions and strategies to support business objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements
• Translate requirements into mobile solutions for multiple operating systems
• Write and develop code that can be applied to multiple types of mobile devices
• Conduct testing to ensure solution is functional
• Remove barriers and obstacles that impact performance
• Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
• Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 6
• 9 years of mobile engineering experience
• 6 years focused on Android application development
• Expertise in developing Android mobile apps using Java and Kotlin
• Experience with mobile app design principles and user experience considerations
• Experience with a consumer facing app and ecommerce or retail shopping
• Deep knowledge of the Android SDK, Design and Architecture Patterns, and Testing frameworks
• Previous knowledge of Designing and developing advanced applications for Android platform
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create new features
• Experience translating wireframes into pixel-perfect views
• Shipped one or more Android applications that are currently available for download on Google Play Store
• Experience with offline storage, and asynchronous programming
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Experience working with remote data via REST, JSON, Google Cloud Messaging, and HTTP protocol
• Experience with Google Play APIs: Maps, Location, and Cloud Messaging
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle and writing readable, maintainable, performant object-oriented code
• Conducting code reviews, maintaining code quality, and ensuring adherence to coding standards
• Participating in the entire Android development lifecycle, including planning, testing, and deploying applications
• Providing technical guidance and support to other team members
• Knowledge of Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multi-platform would be a plus
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Fastlane) for building, testing, and deploying iOS applications
• Familiarity with App Store distribution, TestFlight, and Apple developer tools
• Experience with mobile security practices, performance optimization, and memory management
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or AWS) is a plus
• A continuous learner with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and customer-first mindset
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
