Maintain dedicated oversight of the merchant and corporate payments portfolio, including exercising delegated credit approval authority.
Complete in-depth due diligence reviews of underwriting proposals and creditworthiness for merchant and payments products, including recommendations to senior risk leaders.
Maintain continuous communication with business line representatives to understand exposure characteristics and onboarding requirements.
Present credit proposals and transaction rationales at committee level.
Maintain post-boarding risk oversight of the portfolio to monitor adherence with risk appetite, credit criteria, policy compliance, sector concentration, loss provisioning, and problem credit management.
Participate in new deals and pipeline reviews, including prospective meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Review and manage change requests to the credit terms of existing corporate products including but not limited to redemptions, extensions or early terminations.
Work with other members of the Credit Risk Management team to analyse credit risk metrics and indicators, providing insightful reporting and recommendations to senior management to support informed decision-making.
Leverage market intelligence and CRM MI to monitor economic, geopolitical, and industry trends that impact risk in the portfolio and validate adequacy of credit strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Extensive experience (8+ years) in credit risk management within a financial institution, preferably covering commercial payments products in business banking or corporate portfolios.
Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to articulate key messages in a concise manner.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data/trends and draw actionable insights.
Expert understanding of credit risk, methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g. Basel, CRR, EBA).
Familiarity with financial analysis, or a professional certification such as FRM, CFA, ACA/ACCA or similar are desirable.
