Deliver legal counsel and support of our regional business operations on a wide range of labour and employment matters
Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with Human Resources and business leadership, stakeholders, and Legal Services colleagues across a global organization
Collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic employment and labour law counsel and drive successful outcomes in complex and highly sensitive matters
Manage disputes from claim through litigation, including the retention and direction of external counsel as necessary
Identify and assess legal risks and new developments and advise internal business partners and leadership on development and implementation of policies and procedures
Provide legal training based on risk assessment, strategic objectives, and legal developments
Requirements
Working knowledge of employment and labor law practice experience managing matters for global clients in European jurisdictions, through a large law firm or combination of firm and private corporate settings
Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior level managers and both in-house and outside counsel
Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds;
Good business acumen and experience developing and recommending practical and strategic approaches to legal challenges facing business clients
Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information.
Excellent communication skills with a commitment to integrity, professionalism, collegiality, and keeping stakeholders appropriately informed
Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Knowledge of the resources required to achieve business objectives; ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfil business objectives and plans.
