Design blended learning experiences aligned to SIA competency matrices and career pathways.
Translate competency assessment results and performance data into clear learning objectives, training plans, and development pathways.
Develop field-ready training assets, including: Instructor-led training (ILT) materials, Facilitator guides, Participant workbooks, Hands-on lab activities, Job aids and field reference guides, Scenario-based exercises and assessments.
Ensure training content is practical, accurate, and usable for technicians and other operational roles.
Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of SIA competency frameworks by translating job requirements, assessment results, and field realities into clearly defined, measurable competencies and learning expectations.
Partner closely with SMEs to ensure technical accuracy while maintaining instructional clarity and usability.
Facilitate working sessions with SMEs to extract job-critical knowledge, workflows, and decision points.
Design assessments that measure competency, not just knowledge retention.
Use assessment results, learner feedback, and performance outcomes to refine and improve learning experiences.
Support the evolution of SIA programs such as onboarding, skill development, and advanced technical pathways.
Ensure learning solutions align with SIA governance, standards, and long-term roadmap.
Support knowledge management efforts by organizing, standardizing, and maintaining learning content within the SIA Knowledge Library to ensure accuracy, usability, and consistency over time.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Education, or related field.
5–8+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing learning experiences.
Demonstrated experience designing training for technical, field-based, or skilled‑trade roles.
Strong understanding of competency-based learning and performance-focused development.
Proven ability to translate real-world job tasks into effective learning solutions.
Portfolio of previous work required. This can include examples of: Technical training materials, Facilitator guides or job aids, Scenario-based or hands-on learning solutions, or Evidence of practical application in operational environments.
Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Experience working within an LMS environment, including publishing content, supporting assessments, and reviewing learner progress data.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple requests from various avenues, and the ability to change direction in response to fluctuating circumstances.
Ability to work independently with multiple people at many levels and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage responsibilities independently and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision while delivering high-quality results.
