Core Content Teacher, Girls Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach

Role Overview

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and modify curricula as needed
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Drive bus to transport students safely when needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
• Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger, air brake, and safety endorsements
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and supervise student athletes
• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
• Ability to pass annual and random DOT physical/drug testing
• Ability to lift 30lbs
• Quality experience as a coach or participant in sports assigned
