Role Overview
Role Description
You will apply your skills as an Information Security Analyst within Mila's Information Technology team in a constantly evolving environment. You will continue to develop your knowledge through daily collaboration with system administrators, developers and researchers on complex tools.
Primary responsibilities
- Monitor, identify, investigate, document, remediate and report information security events as a cybersecurity expert.
- Administer platform security and collaborate with the technical team; ensure the proper functioning and reliability of security tools and oversee their technical evolution and deployment.
- Manage and analyze information security incidents and recommend improvements.
- Monitor network activity to detect malicious traffic and remediate it using firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and other available tools.
- Maintain security awareness and report any threats related to system security.
- Participate in any project or activity where your expertise is required.
- Draft or contribute to the preparation of various documents and reports.
- Contribute to process improvements while maintaining up-to-date and appropriate documentation.
- Track the progress of security projects and provide regular reports.
- Participate in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
Requirements
Candidate profile / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, diploma or recognized certificate in information security, computer science or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Assets / Preferred qualifications:
- Technical professional certifications such as: CISCO, CheckPoint, CEH, OSCP, CCNA, CompTIA CASP+, etc.
- Security professional certifications (CISSP, CSSK, CCAK, CISM, CISA, etc.).
- Experience with Linux systems.
- Rigorous and methodical mindset.
- Attention to detail and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills with end users.
- Bilingual in French and English due to interactions with internal and external stakeholders and members of our anglophone academic community.
- Versatility and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good level of autonomy and resourcefulness.
- Demonstrates creativity and initiative to propose improvements.
- Comfortable working in a team.
- Strives for excellence in their work.
