Organize editorial project teams, including other Editors and Editorial Specialists, to deliver research and competitive intelligence initiatives
Demonstrate considerable judgment in compiling facts and making decisions where recognized practice is inadequate for the situation
Complete data and fact checking based on annotated source materials
Synthesize and summarize published and presented scientific material for appropriate medical affairs, commercial, and patient audiences
Conduct literature, KOL, and other strategic searches based on supplied search criteria
Provide thorough review of various medical communication initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas, including manuscripts (original research and reviews), abstracts, posters, and slide decks for scientific meetings, medical slide decks, pitch decks, executive summaries, publication plans, and meeting collateral
Copy edit and review scientific content for grammar, punctuation, style, consistency, individual brand style/design, and overall flow and clarity in accordance with relevant style (eg, AMA, journal/congress, client)
Maintain current knowledge of AMA and client style guidelines
Maintain and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes
Collaborate with Lockwood teams to address and resolve their evolving needs
Requirements
8-10 years of experience in a scientific content editor role in a medical communications agency or similar environment required
