Application Engineers provide technical support to troubleshoot existing products, enhance existing products, and support new product developments.
Expertise in product and service: Possess in-depth knowledge of Amcor products and services and promote to customers.
Equipped to handle complex customer queries and provide detailed product information.
Stay apprised of externally relevant technology changes and trends that impact the health care industry.
Continuously learn and share knowledge to advance capability across the organization.
Create and implement qualification and scale-up protocols for growth and spec change actions.
Build strong customer relationships, trust and credibility by demonstrating a deep understanding of the customer’s industry and challenges.
Provide expert guidance and support to solve the customer’s unique application issues in a timely fashion, accelerating commercialization.
Focus on customer new product introductions to specify Amcor solutions during early design stages.
Reinforce Amcor’s quantified value proposition, driving sales growth and customer retention, helping cement Amcor as a supplier of choice.
Understand the customer operations better than they do in order to enhance the Amcor Value Proposition through activities such as process improvement and value engineering.
Schedule and execute product performance and engineering audits to capture a quantifiable value for the customer.
Partner with appropriate stakeholders to ensure action and resolution to audit findings.
Work in partnership with Sales, delivering timely, comprehensive solutions tailored to each customer to accelerate new sales growth.
Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to provide actionable feedback on product performance for the customer’s unique applications.
Collaborate with R&D to identify portfolio gaps, product enhancements and new product ideas as well as competitive trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
Participate in training sessions, trade shows, seminars and account reviews.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in an engineering field required
Min 5 years technical experience in an engineering, manufacturing process or field technical role; flexible packaging and thermoforming technical experience preferred
Strong conceptual and analytical skills, attention to details
Strong mechanical and technical ability and aptitude
Strong problem-solving skills
Able to manage multiple priorities
Excellent project management skills; ability to drive execution of plans
