Role Overview
- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict
- Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation and SUI as appropriate
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, prepare summaries and reports
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations for potential impacts to ongoing cases
- Provide legal opinions to claims clients
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis
- Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks
- Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents
- Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, TeamConnect, and legal software
- Must be able to handle cases filed throughout the State of Virginia
