About this role
Role Overview
Support projects from feasibility and design through to delivery, ensuring every solution balances technical excellence, cost, and long-term value.
Designing water or wastewater treatment processes and sewerage/water systems in line with Anglian Water’s goals and standards.
Undertaking process calculations, including hydraulics, unit processes, capacity assessments, and pump design.
Producing technical deliverables such as data sheets and process documentation.
Analysing and assessing third-party equipment through technical bid reviews.
Applying process safety principles, including LOPA and DSEAR, in all designs.
Collaborating with design teams to develop integrated 3D models and solutions.
Ensuring compliance with POSWSH and POSWASTE requirements.
Preparing technical documents that meet agreed standards, specifications, and timescales.
Supporting health and safety excellence by producing safe, compliant designs in line with CDM regulations.
Providing technical guidance during project delivery and escalating issues that may affect time, cost, or quality.
Requirements
A degree in water/wastewater process science, engineering, or a related subject
Demonstrable experience in process engineering for clean water or waste water treatment projects
Strong knowledge of treatment process design, modelling, and optimisation
Experience with biosolids treatment would be advantageous
Proven ability to apply process safety principles, including LOPA and DSEAR, in design
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across teams and stakeholders
Good IT skills and ability to use modelling tools where required
Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
A relevant postgraduate qualification (such as MSc or CIWEM membership)
Membership of a professional engineering body
