The Financial Aid Specialist will execute financial aid and private loan activities, implement financial aid policies and procedures, and ensure financial aid compliance.
Work together with the Campus Director, Enrollment Advisor and Student Services to ensure high customer service standards.
Perform administrative functions and complete management reports accurately and timely.
Abide by the school, state, and federal standards.
Requirements
Meet with prospective and current (or returning) students (and their families) to determine financial aid eligibility and provide guidance to them about financial aid-related applications.
Review student files and withdrawal documents for completeness and accuracy, in compliance with Federal, institutional policies and procedures.
Have a clear working understanding of Title IV program information.
Evaluates Federal and/or institutional requirements for all students who withdraw from TUBC.
Verifies attendance, recalculates student eligibility and processes return of TIV funds.
Performs all refunds to ensure funds are returned to the appropriate Federal programs within required timeframes.
Work closely with the Business Office to verify student accounts when necessary.
Work closely with campus and Corporate Registrars to ensure timely processing of all student dismissals.
Report to Vice President of Student Finance for timely completion on all Federal calculations
Assist students/parents with applications for financial aid.
Explain awards to students/parents as it relates to their financial aid eligibility.
Research and resolve any problems in a student FA file.
Financial aid packaging-Reinstate and subsequent academic years.
All electronic processing
ISIR, FAFSAs, MPNs.
Timely and accurate processing of financial aid.
Maintain knowledge of appropriate regulations (Federal, state and institutional).
The ability to calculate R2T4 refunds for drops/withdrawals.
Provide student FA updates to the Admissions Advisor and Campus Director.
Responsible for managing the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
Special projects as needed.
