Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Role Overview

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience
• At least 2+ years in people management
• Strong experience in building and managing a high performing team
• Experience leading a team of 10-12 people
• Accountability of complete E2E delivery
• Building services using Microservices/Restful/SOAP web services
• In-depth knowledge in backend technologies like Java, Spring/Springboot
• Running cloud distributed system in production for at least 2-3 years
• Creating performing, highly scalable, and distributed middle-tier frameworks, preferably using event-driven architecture in Cloud like Azure
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
• Experience on large-scale end-to-end implementations
• Knowledge on unit testing frameworks (JUnit/Spock/Jest) and code quality control platforms like Sonar
• Experience in CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of at least one cloud-based project
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies
• Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions
• Understanding and handling Non-Functional requirements (NFR’s)
• Excellent in driving Engineering excellence – code quality, performance tuning, operational excellence
• Strong desire to drive change and ability to adapt to change quickly
• Willing to learn new and emerging technologies
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control
• Knowledge on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure
• Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
