Identify and develop relationships with national and regional medical and scientific KOLs in line with Medical Affairs strategies and overall Ipsen objectives
Engage in compliant scientific exchange and education on current and emerging therapies with KOLs (including advisory boards, one-to-one meetings, and congresses)
Develop and maintain scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise in Rare Diseases
Represent the company at continuing medical education events, medical meetings and scientific conventions
Collaborate with clinical development as required to identify and engage suitable sites for Ipsen trials and to identify disease concepts that can be leveraged for product differentiation
Position Ipsen as the preferred scientific partner through innovative initiatives, coordinated strategy, and clear scientific communication
Provide scientific, clinical, and educational support for internal cross-functional stakeholders (including other MSL team members)
Support medical publications as needed (abstracts, manuscripts, etc.)
Support commercial operations by participating in Speaker and Representative Training
Lead or participate in special project teams as necessary
Support cross-functional teams to ensure patient-focused operations, including responding promptly to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and providing medical affairs support to all stakeholders
Requirements
Advanced scientific, healthcare or medical degree required (PharmD, PhD, MD)
Background in medical/paramedical practice or research (hospital and/or hospital-related, university research, pharmaceutical industry research or medical affairs)
Previous experience in an MSL or related role with at least 2 years’ experience
Proven track record as an MSL or medical department professional in a prior company
Experience delivering scientific presentations and developing relationships with national/international thought leaders
Prior and recent experience in Rare Diseases / Liver is an advantage
Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly
Knowledge of data analysis and statistics, and awareness of legal, regulatory and compliance requirements and guidelines
Team player with a solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills
Ability to travel approximately 60–80% (depending on the geography)
Business fluent in German and English
