Define the technical solutions, assumptions, and constraints for major initiatives
Create the technical roadmaps that align with our "multi-generation" software plans
Lead the migration and optimization of ModMed products into a unified cloud engineering organization, utilizing AWS/Azure/GCP best practices
Identify recurring patterns across different product lines to develop common frameworks, reducing duplication and driving engineering efficiency across the enterprise
Develop prototypes (POCs), establish CI/CD standards, and ensure modern SRE/DevOps principles are baked into every design
Evaluate existing systems to identify bottlenecks in performance, security, or cost, and propose actionable architectural shifts to resolve them
Act as a mentor to staff and senior engineers, elevating the technical bar across the organization
Requirements
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a dedicated architectural role
Proven track record of designing and scaling large-scale, distributed SaaS applications
Expert in horizontal scaling, database sharding, and event-driven architectures
Deep experience with cloud-native principles (Containers, Kubernetes, Serverless, and Service Mesh) and multi-cloud strategies
Expert knowledge of Agile, Lean, and SAFe
Solid experience with automation frameworks, observability (APM, logging), and security-by-design (DevSecOps)
Exceptional ability to decompose complex problems and explain them clearly to both developers and executive leadership
