About this role
Role Overview
- End-to-end development of embedded systems consisting of hardware and basic software for microcontroller
- and microprocessor-based systems in the defense, railway technology and industrial control sectors
- Design and planning of system architectures, hardware concepts and interfaces, taking into account functional, organizational and economic requirements
- Development of embedded software (basic software, applications and prototype software) as well as low-level tests for common microcontroller classes
- Independent development and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits within a given overall architecture
- Creation of EMC-compliant schematics and PCB layouts
- Description, specification and documentation of systems and software using UML and structured text, among others
- Definition and creation of test specifications as well as assembly, commissioning, optimization and verification of prototypes according to specification
- Execution and supervision of internal tests as well as tests at external testing institutes
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in electrical engineering / electronics
- Solid experience in the development of embedded systems with microcontrollers of various classes and manufacturers
- Very good knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded software and low-level programming
- Strong expertise in hardware development, particularly in the design and dimensioning of analog and digital circuits
- Profound understanding of switching and control devices, microcontroller architectures and their system integration
- Experience in describing and modeling systems with UML or a comparable modeling language
- Excellent knowledge of EMC-compliant design of electronic assemblies
- Proficient in at least one EDA software, e.g. Altium Designer or comparable tools
- Experience in creating test specifications and in conducting and supervising tests
- Experience dealing with testing institutes and approval authorities is desirable
- Excellent German language skills, spoken and written (must-have)
- Good English skills
