Produce and distribute weekly hotel performance reports, including data validation, trend analysis and concise written insights for internal stakeholders.
Develop and maintain monthly hotel reporting, synthesizing performance trends, seasonality and market dynamics.
Build and maintain reporting tables using advanced Excel functionality, including pivot tables, lookups, calculated fields and structured templates.
Contribute to Tableau dashboards used for hotel and market performance reporting, ensuring data accuracy and clear visual storytelling.
Analyze visitor trends under the direction of the Research Manager to support organizational insights and strategic planning.
Assist with visitor segmentation analysis, including demographic, behavioral, geographic and trip-purpose segments.
Analyze and synthesize government and public-sector visitation data to inform market profiles.
Help build visitor profiles, summary presentations and fact sheets for internal teams, members and external stakeholders.
Provide ad hoc analytical support to the research, sales, membership and marketing teams under the direction of the VP of Research.
Monitor and answer the research email inbox daily and ensure responses are sent within 24 hours.
Requirements
Required Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, finance, marketing, data analytics, hospitality, urban planning or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups and data cleaning/manipulation.
Working knowledge of Tableau, including building or updating dashboards and basic data visualizations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and summarize insights clearly.
Excellent written communication skills and high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines across weekly, monthly and annual reporting cycles.
Appropriate sense of urgency in completing work is required.
Preferred Familiarity with hotel performance metrics such as occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.
Experience working with recurring reporting cadences or standardized dashboards.
Prior internship, coursework, or professional experience involving applied data analysis or business intelligence tools.
Interest in tourism, destination marketing, consumer insight, New York City government or hospitality analytics.
