You lead the engineering team at the heart of sofatutor’s core product — a learning platform used by more than one million students, parents and teachers across the German-speaking region.
You work directly with a Senior Product Lead, Content Leads and a Staff Engineer and are responsible for both the people and the delivery.
You are responsible for the structure, leadership and development of the engineers in the team — with a clear focus on outcomes, quality and sustainable delivery.
You coach engineers technically and personally, set up growth plans and establish effective feedback and performance routines.
You work closely with Product, Design, Content and Technical leaders on the roadmap, prioritization and execution — translating goals into realistic plans.

2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager with leadership responsibility for 5+ engineers in agile software teams.
Proven experience in hiring, onboarding and developing engineers — coaching, feedback cycles, growth frameworks.
Solid hands-on background in larger web development projects; experience with Ruby on Rails and/or JavaScript is a plus.
Sufficient technical depth to lead architecture discussions and competently assess code quality.
Strong understanding of software development processes, testing, deployment and modern delivery culture.
Genuine enthusiasm for AI in engineering and the pragmatism to apply it in practice.
