Partnering with leaders in the actuarial department to identify key priorities for developing new models and improving existing frameworks
Work in close collaboration with underwriting, pricing, claims and finance to develop a common view of the business
Provide proactive insights, identify the drivers and ensure that the reserve analyses reflect any changes in the portfolio to minimize volatility and avoid surprises
Apply innovative approaches and leading-edge tools to analyze the business
Collaborate with the finance organization to provide accurate, timely and granular analyses to support the quarterly financial reporting process
Assume an active leadership role within Arch’s actuarial community and keep abreast of new reserving methodologies, trends and product/ tort reforms and other external issues
Requirements
A university degree in a quantitative discipline
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (strong ACAS candidates will be considered)
7+ years’ experience in progressively senior but technical and hands-on actuarial roles within the property and casualty insurance industry
A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a reserving or loss analytics function and team preferred
Software skills: Excel (expert), Word, PowerPoint; Power BI (preferred), database and programming skills required such as SQL (expert), Snowflake knowledge (preferred), Python knowledge (preferred)
