Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems
Provides technical assistance and training to system users
Inspects personal computer equipment and reads Helpdesk ticket for user requirements to prepare PC for delivery
Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, network equipment, etc.
Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer.
Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
Instructs users in use of hardware and software.
Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems.
Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups.
Assists in upgrading network hardware and software components as required.
Provides updates, status, and completion information to Director of IT, IT Help Desk System and/or users, via chat, email, or in-person communication.
Replaces defective or inadequate software packages.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or technical school; or twenty-four months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to run, terminate, test network cable as needed
Ability to perform network troubleshooting tasks and report as needed to the IT team for further investigation.
Ability to support end users onsite and also outside of the WI facility remotely and ensures they are getting the assistance they need on a timely basis.
