Role Overview
- Create quotes for pumps, grinders, and custom electrical control panels using the ERP system, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing for clients in the water and wastewater industry.
- Answer technical questions from both customers and the sales team, providing expertise on equipment controls, electrical control panels, and related systems.
- Source necessary information from Vogelsang Germany, customers, and suppliers to support the design and implementation of equipment controls and electrical control panels.
- Compile submittal packages to send to customers, including detailed documentation on pumps, grinders, and electrical control panels.
- Oversee orders from start to finish, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of custom electrical control panels and related equipment.
- Review purchase orders for parts and assembly orders, comparing for accuracy and data entry quality, with a focus on components related to equipment controls and electrical systems.
- Enter and confirm parts orders, ensuring all components for electrical control panels and related equipment are accurately documented and processed.
- Quote parts, replacement kits, and replacement models, including those for electrical control panels and equipment controls.
- Request clean specifications from engineers and end users to facilitate the design and manufacturing of custom electrical control panels and equipment control systems.
- Request submittal packages from suppliers for motors, gearboxes, panels, and other components related to equipment controls and electrical systems.
- Schedule upcoming bids in ERP system and Salesforce, coordinating with sales and engineering teams to align on opportunities related to equipment controls and electrical control panels.
- Other duties as assigned, including tasks related to the engineering and manufacturing of custom electrical control panels and support for equipment controls in the water and wastewater industry.
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Application Engineering or Inside Sales in the pump and controls industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Extensive knowledge of positive displacement pumps (rotary lobe, progressive cavity, gear, or diaphragm pumps).
- Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and quoting from engineering specifications.
- Strong background in pump selection, system design, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with pump control systems, automation, and electrical integration (VFDs, PLCs, sensors).
- Ability to develop technical proposals, quotations, and bid responses with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and CAD software (preferred but not required).
Preferred:
- Experience in wastewater, industrial processing, or agricultural applications.
- Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, mechanical seals, and material compatibility.
- Prior experience collaborating with OEMs, engineering firms, and large industrial customers.
