Maintain accurate and confidential labor relations records, such as grievances, discipline documentation, and union correspondence
Facilitate the hourly attendance policy and all its procedural requirements (i.e. timekeeping, pay code/leave application, occurrences, etc.)
Responsible for reviewing and coordinating with front-line leaders, appropriate communication and advisement for application of collective bargaining agreement rules when calculating pay, overtime, shift differentials and other allowances
Responsible for updating weekly overtime charts; posting and distribution to hour management teams
Flag discrepancies or potential violations for union rules for management review (i.e. time, attendance, leave codes, miscalculation of time, missing punches, etc.)
Review and coordinate lost time reports (hourly workforce only)
Verify and process employee timecards for payroll submission on a daily and/or weekly basis (or as needed)
Responsible for generation and maintenance of Labor reporting (as directed)
Liaison between HR and Management for timekeeping systems (Kronos)
Reviewing and disseminating information for hourly call-out logs to front-line leaders
Communicate with payroll and HR teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of time/attendance records; this includes tracking absenteeism, badging error, tardiness and leave requests (where applicable)
Reports patterns or issues with Labor and/or HRIS systems (i.e. SAP, Kronos, EC, Decisions, etc.)
Provide timekeeping records and documentation to assist with grievances and labor disputes
Archive historical records according to company and legal retention policies
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with handling of employee information
Assist/support or Labor Relations administrative tasks (i.e. inventory, scheduling, etc.) as requested
Requirements
Bachelors’ degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university is required (Human Resources, Communication, Human Services, or a closely related field, preferred)
Candidate must have minimum of one (1) year of HR experience (i.e related tasks related to time/attendance, timekeeping, payroll coding, employee leave functions, recruitment, and etc)
Candidate must have minimum of six (6) months of experience working in a employee relations environment.
Prior experience/knowledge of working in a unionized environment is highly preferred.
Experience/knowledge of working with collective bargaining, grievance processing, and advising management on labor issues
Strong understanding of federal and state labor laws and regulations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interacting with different levels within the Company (and union)
Strong analytical skills to evaluate situations and solve problems
High level of organizational, attention to detail, and time management
Proficiency in HR software (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to build positive relationships
Ability to maintain meticulous record-keeping for tracking grievances, contract details and union information request
