Assist attorneys in with all aspects of trial preparation, (including trial attendance, organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed)
Assist in preparing legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses and records release authorizations
Oversee/assist with the discovery process, including the analysis of medical records, scheduling depositions, assisting with discovery requests and responses, organization and production of documents and preparing /filing pleadings, privilege logs and memoranda
Establish and maintain strong communications with attorneys, clients, witnesses, etc.
Perform factual research and investigation addressing various trial issues
Utilize computer databases to research, organize, and store information
Be proficient in using LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases
Keep apprised of all developments of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court)
Proficiency in PACER, Relativity, billing software, case management software, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume litigation environment
A four-year college degree and/or paralegal certificate required
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Strong interpersonal skills to build a rapport with team and clients
Detail oriented, able to work independently, and possess excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
Must have the motivation and skill to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proven computer/technology skills. Microsoft Office Suite a must
