Designs, documents, and governs enterprise-wide ServiceNow functional architectures that align with enterprise architecture standards, ServiceNow leading practices, and business capability needs.
Owns and maintains the 12–24-month ServiceNow platform architecture roadmap, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and a consistent end-user experience across all modules.
Defines and enforces platform standards, architectural guardrails, and reusable solution patterns aligned to out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities and configuration-over-customization principles.
Serves as the primary and final functional design authority for ServiceNow solutions, providing architectural review and approval prior to major releases, deployments, or deviations from standards.
Translates complex business and operational requirements into scalable ServiceNow workflows, service models, and data model alignment.
Leads functional architecture and design for cross-module and cross-platform implementations, including ITSM, HRSD, Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), CMDB/CSDM, and other ServiceNow modules.
Conducts impact analyses and risk assessments for proposed ServiceNow designs, identifying risks related to platform health, performance, security, data integrity, technical debt, and total cost of ownership.
Establishes and governs enterprise demand intake, backlog management, and prioritization models for ServiceNow, eliminating fragmented, duplicative, or misaligned solutions.
Ensures ServiceNow architecture adheres to security, compliance, performance, and availability requirements by partnering with security, compliance, and technical architecture stakeholders.
Collaborate with Solution Architects, Platform Architects, and Digital Product teams to ensure all ServiceNow solutions conform to approved functional architecture and platform standards.
Provides architectural oversight and guidance to internal delivery teams and external implementation partners, ensuring alignment with approved designs and long-term roadmap objectives.
Leads or contributes to the development of RFIs, RFPs, and Statements of Work (SOWs) related to ServiceNow platform capabilities and vendor implementations.
Contributes to the maturation of the ServiceNow operating model, supporting the transition from project-based delivery to product-oriented, platform stewardship.
Stays current with ServiceNow platform releases, architectural patterns, and enterprise workflow automation trends.
Requirements
Deep expertise in enterprise platform architecture, with a strong focus on the ServiceNow platform or comparable enterprise workflow platforms.
Strong functional architecture capability, including workflow design, service modeling, cross-module integration, and out-of-the-box design discipline.
Solid understanding of ServiceNow data models, including CMDB and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) principles.
Ability to balance business value, delivery velocity, and long-term platform sustainability.
Proven ability to define and enforce standards through governance and influence rather than direct authority.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level communication.
Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
Ability to lead with influence across multiple teams and business units.
Experience working in Agile and product-oriented delivery environments.
Excellent documentation and oral/written communication skills.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required.
Minimum of 6 years of enterprise IT experience required. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on ServiceNow platform experience in architecture, governance, or advanced delivery roles required.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise ServiceNow reimplementation, consolidation, or modernization initiatives strongly preferred.
ServiceNow platform architecture, workflows, and functional capabilities, including IT Service Management (ITSM).
Experience with additional ServiceNow modules such as Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), Service Mapping, and CMDB/CSDM.
Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and SaaS platform governance principles
