Planning and coordinating material and component requirements in close collaboration with Engineering, suppliers, and project teams
Organizing and monitoring day-to-day supply chain and logistics processes to ensure service, quality, and delivery targets
Acting as the technical interface and central point of contact for Engineering, suppliers, customers, and internal teams – responsible for accurate information flow, resolving technical queries, and assessing the technical feasibility of parts and materials
Providing technical support to Procurement on RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier assessments, and final alignment of technical specifications
Supporting demand forecasting, procurement planning, inventory management, and material availability
Identifying and resolving operational issues across the supply chain, e.g., material shortages, supplier capacity constraints, or production preparation, including structured escalation
Ensuring compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and applicable trade and compliance regulations
Supporting the team through knowledge transfer and technical explanations
Requirements
Completed technical vocational training, ideally in a metalworking environment (e.g., metal construction, industrial mechanics, precision engineering, machining technology, or design engineering); further qualifications such as technician (metal/mechanics), master metalworker, or industrial foreman in metal are an advantage
Several years of experience in supply chain, technical procurement, production planning, or logistics, ideally with exposure to steel components, metal parts, or roll-formed profiles
Confident handling of technical drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes, with a good understanding of manufacturability, material properties, and mechanical requirements of steel parts
Experience collaborating with Engineering and suppliers on technical clarifications (e.g., feasibility, material selection, or manufacturing steps)
Good knowledge of MRP and procurement processes and an understanding of international supply chains (e.g., lead times, transport processes, customs touchpoints)
Solid MS Office skills, especially Excel; some experience with ERP systems
Analytical and structured working style combined with pragmatism and strong execution skills
Open, team-oriented personality with high integrity and reliability in handling compliance and customer-specific requirements
Very good German and English language skills
