Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process end to end, general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and flux analysis.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP.
Build and deliver the monthly financial package, full P&L broken out by business unit, with line-item detail that gives leadership real visibility into what's driving results.
Own the Weekly Business Review (WBR) financial reporting, daily cost loads, post-order costs, actuals vs. system data, and courier cost reconciliation to catch inconsistencies in real time.
Forecast the total P&L for the upcoming month in partnership with FP&A and General Managers, gathering post-order data, understanding cost inputs, and pressure-testing assumptions.
Work directly with external auditors, managing the full audit relationship, timeline, and deliverables.
Own tax compliance coordination, serve as the internal point of contact for our external tax advisors, consolidate reporting, and prepare standalone financial statements for each entity.
Manage all balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounts are clean and well-documented.
Own inventory accounting across Jiffy's distribution network, valuation, reserves, cycle count reconciliation, shrinkage, and obsolescence analysis.
Build and maintain COGS reporting by product line, channel, and facility.
Develop freight, fulfillment, and distribution cost allocation methodologies that give operations and leadership clear visibility into unit economics.
Capture every cost that flows through the business from purchase order through last-mile delivery to report accurate bottom-line EBITDA.
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure financial data reflects what's actually happening in the warehouse and on the trucks.
Assess current accounting processes and controls, identify what's working, what's missing, and what needs to be rebuilt.
Design and implement internal controls appropriate for Jiffy's stage: credit card spend controls, AP management, invoice approval workflows, and flagging of unusual or out-of-policy expenses.
Improve or implement systems and tools to support the accounting function (ERP, close management, expense management, etc.). Sage Intacct experience is a strong plus.
Create scalable reporting templates and dashboards that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Document processes so the function can scale beyond one person when the time comes.
Use AI tools to streamline data gathering for month-end reporting, we're actively looking to automate the manual data collection that slows down the close.
Identify opportunities to apply AI across the accounting function: reconciliation automation, anomaly detection, cost variance analysis, and reporting workflows.
Build and share repeatable AI-assisted workflows with the broader finance team at Jiffy, we expect everyone to leverage AI to increase their output and accuracy.
Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership, especially on cost structure, margin drivers, and operational efficiency.
Support FP&A and strategic finance with clean actuals, variance explanations, and ad hoc analysis.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and technology teams on initiatives with financial impact.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required: finance, accounting, or related field.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role.
Direct experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting in a product-based, distribution, or ecommerce business.
Hands-on experience managing the full close cycle and external audit process.
Demonstrated ability to build or significantly improve accounting processes and controls, not just inherit and maintain them.
Advanced Excel skills, you're a power user, comfortable working with large data sets and building models from scratch.
Comfort using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to increase speed, accuracy, and output in day-to-day accounting work.
