A Data Scientist III in Brain Research is a senior, research-focused professional who applies advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning to support neuroscience studies and clinical discovery.
Design and execute research initiatives using multimodal neuroimaging data—including MRI, fMRI, and DTI.
Develop Python-based computational workflows for data preprocessing, analysis, and modeling.
Test and validate hypotheses across specific brain regions and translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights for research and publication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build data-driven software systems, such as analytics platforms, data pipelines, and machine learning–enabled applications.
Develop new software, data models, and proof-of-concept solutions, ensuring rigorous testing and validation to deliver reliable, production-quality outcomes while working closely with PIs throughout the research lifecycle.
Requirements
Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics or related field (Master’s or PhD degrees in related fields may substitute the experience requirement)
3 years of related experience, working with statistical modeling, machine learning or complex data analysis OR candidates with Bachelor of Science and 6 years of related experience may also be considered OR Master's Degree in related field may substitute 2 years of experience OR PhD in related field may substitute 3 years of experience
Highly proficient with programming skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, MATLAB or similar
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
