Controller, Project Accounting

Role Overview

• Manage 3-6 direct reports
• Coordinate property assignments and tasks to ensure timely and accurate client accounting and reporting
• Identify training needs, track employee performance, and foster a positive work environment
• Promote positive internal and external customer service
• Review financial statement packages prior to submission to clients
• Assist accountants with financial processes such as debt and real estate taxes
• Update and maintain current project information for internal tracking

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
• Previous management experience required
• CPA license preferred
• Ability to effectively delegate workloads and inspire and motivate accountants
• In-depth understanding of accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP) and financial terms and principles
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and openness to new ideas and procedures
