Role Overview
- Execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines
- Deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers
- Work with customers to identify opportunities in the installed base to improve system performance and operational performance
- Conduct work activities in compliance with HSE, ABB Way, and Safety policies
- Hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment
- Lead outages with field engineers, technicians, and contractors, including project management
- Write technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, prepare job status reports, time sheets, and expense sheets in a complete and timely manner
- Organize and perform multifunctional field assignments and direct the work of other field engineers and craft labor as necessary
- Develop and expand technical knowledge and expertise, and plan/instruct training programs as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years relevant field engineering experience
- Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays and Transformers
- Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays)
- Experience in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines (including excitation systems), controls systems and Programmable Logic controllers a plus
- Up to 75% domestic travel
- Knowledge of industrial customer base in geographical area
- Must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
