The PACCCIL Project Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination, organisation, monitoring, and evaluation of all aspects of the PACCCIL program in Vanuatu through the following key outputs:
Lead in the Influencing outcomes of the project at the national, regional, and global climate change spaces representing the context with which it is based in.
Working with VCAN in planning and providing technical support to the VCAN coordinator in climate action matters for effective influencing and learning work.
Steer the project in-country to support the Capacity Building needs identified by VCAN.
Negotiate with VCAN on key priority work plans for PACCCIL every financial year.
Support the development of the Learning Framework of PACCCIL.
Ensure the effective management and delivery of the project outputs as stipulated in the project document and yearly country work plans.
Lead in the socialization of strategies supported by the project to support VCAN in its climate action work
Support the regional team by leading in country-based reporting both internally and externally.
Requirements
University degree in a subject related to climate change, international development, NGO management or equivalent qualification is desirable;
Knowledge in COPs and the UN Climate Agreements
Knowledge of and experiences in COPs and UN agreements on Climate Change including climate policies at the national, regional, and international level
Extensive experience in climate change, including formal education, and professional work in influencing and community action
Extensive experience working with government at the local, national and international level
Analytical and report writing skills
Financial and management skills
Strong knowledge of community-based climate change adaptation / climate action
Strong facilitation skills and experience in encouraging participatory engagement
Experience in the development of strategies to influence positive change, including participation in regional and international bodies
Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders and preferably experience in collaborative programs/networks
Experience liaising with communities, governments, donors, public representation
