Role Overview
- Serves as a consultant when difficulties with lactation are beyond the knowledge of the healthcare provider
- Develops and implements lactation plans of care
- Educates patients, families and healthcare team members
- Participates in lactation program development and implementation
- Collects data, identifies, monitors and evaluates quality and safety issues related to practice
Requirements
- Certifications: Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) within 1 year
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) within 2 years
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
- Bachelor's Degree: Related Field
- Work Experience: Mother baby/obstetrics
