Claims Consultant

Role Overview

• Serve as a claims advocate for clients by taking claim calls
• Completing site visits as needed for severe losses
• Promptly submitting claims to the carrier
• Review and analyze policies to make sure all applicable coverage is triggered in the event of a loss
• Manage claims through resolution while communicating clearly with clients and internal team members on claim status, issues, and next steps
• Provide expert workers’ compensation guidance by applying in-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and industry practices
• Build strong carrier relationships with adjusters and other claims team members
• Provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients and internal team members
• Monitor trends in claims activity and proactively communicate patterns, emerging coverage concerns, and any carrier-related issues to agency teams

Requirements

• A strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations
• Property & Casualty license
• 5+ years of experience working in claims, customer service, underwriting, commercial lines insurance for a carrier or broker preferred
• Good interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and multi-task
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and communicate effectively
