Assist with security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response activities
Support vulnerability assessments, security audits, and compliance reviews
Help maintain and update security documentation, policies, and procedures
Participate in security tool configuration and maintenance (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection)
Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
Assist with security awareness initiatives and training materials
Support identity and access management (IAM) processes and user access reviews
Collaborate with IT and development teams to promote secure coding and system hardening practices

Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
Awareness of current and emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and defense strategies
Basic understanding of networks, operating systems, and information security concepts
Ability to troubleshoot technical security issues and think critically about risk
Strong learning agility and eagerness to develop cybersecurity expertise
Self-motivated problem solver with attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Good judgment and ability to work effectively within a high-performing security team
Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
Experience with security tools or platforms (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, antivirus/EDR)
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
Exposure to cloud security concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA)
Currently enrolled college student or recent college graduate
Cybersecurity-related certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CySA+) are a plus but not required
