Establishes multi-function project management team(s) for basic and/or moderately complex projects including regulatory compliance, design, construction, project controls, procurement, estimating, start-up and turnover;
Manages established project costs, schedules, and technical baselines and provides effective management of project staff and matrix personnel to control baselines.
Provides concise and accurate oral and written presentations to internal and external customers regarding project implementation plans, status, changes and new approaches;
Conducts complex analyses of problems involving numerous engineering disciplines.
Develops innovative alternative action strategies enabling the early achievement of milestones.
Performs risk analyses and provides decision authority for defining and approving corrective actions and establishing priorities.
Manages project efforts to ensure project progress is within schedule, cost, technical, environmental, and legal baselines.
Ensures timely submittal of all required progress and status reports.
Provides project coordination and work window management to ensure the project progresses on schedule.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and relevant experience.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of multiple engineering disciplines including design and construction in addition to business disciplines such as procurement, planning, scheduling, cost/budget control
Considerable knowledge of DOE Orders and Regulations as well as industry codes and standards with emphasis in National Environmental Policy Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, and Compensation and Liability Act
Clear understanding of work hazards, safety programs, environmental law, legal and business concepts
Previous direct supervisory experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
Earned Value Management System (ANSI/EIA 748) experience; qualified Cost Account Manager
Experience working at a nuclear site/facility
Technical Master’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management or related field and experience.
