Focuses on medium complexity designs of the mechatronic material handling layouts using the TGW product portfolio and relevant 3rd party equipment.
Maintains a thorough understanding of TGW’s product portfolio and a high-level grasp of 3rd party items to better design material handling equipment (MHE) systems.
Design and development of replacement hardware and redesign existing systems to fulfill modernization needs of customers.
Develops and presents concepts to customers as part of the retrofit team and participates in internal discussions to create optimized solutions that best fit the customer’s requirements.
Creates mechanical costing quotations for TGW products and 3rd party items and produces complete project estimators for simple systems.
Uses engineering knowledge to conduct existing system performance calculations to ensure that the selected equipment meets the specified enhancement target rates.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Ideally two (2) to four (4) years of applications engineering, or related experience, preferably in a material handling environment.
Strong proficiency in 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
AutoCAD (2D CAD) and Sketchup experience preferred.
