Design, build, and maintain backend services that support content understanding, metadata modeling, and enrichment workflows
Contribute to systems that process and manage metadata for a large-scale, global content catalog
Maintain and expand the API layer and data models across two provider contexts (Paramount+ and PlutoTV) as the codebase converges toward a unified multi-tenant architecture
Uphold engineering quality through test coverage, code reviews, and consistent application of coding standards
Support editorial curation workflows that feed the personalization experience, ensuring curators have the tooling and data quality needed to make effective content decisions
Requirements
3+ years of professional software engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Strong proficiency in a Python web API and ORM framework (Django/ORM/DRF preferred)
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure including managed databases, object storage, and container orchestration (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
API design with backwards compatibility across multiple consumer teams
Relational data modeling for transactional systems
Experience building data engineering pipelines, including best practices like defensive coding at ingestion boundaries, instrumentation to surface anomalies early, and awareness of data drift so that quality issues are caught before they propagate downstream
