Role Overview
Develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing.
Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes.
Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Requirements
Professional qualifications e.g. qualified accountant and an excellent general academic track record.
Strong financial services experience with knowledge of Finance process, system and technologies.
Excellent power-point skills, with the ability to storyboard and produce best in class presentations.
Strong data manipulation skills (incl. Excel) with analytical problem-solving ability to proactively break down issues and identify solutions.
Adapt leadership and communication styles to influence and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience of finance transformation programs and strong command of project management techniques and principles, and process management skills and techniques (Lean, Six Sigma) particularly in matrixed environments.
