Supervise a team of engineers/technicians and/or subcontractors for the installation, pre-commissioning, and maintenance of HVDC Valve Solutions.
Coordinate valve site activities and report to the HVDC office on progress and results.
Execute the delivery of the project regarding the converter valve Installation, Pre-commissioning, and maintenance.
Lead/Supervise team of field engineers/technicians in the field and carry out assembly, repair and maintenance, pre-commissioning work on-site.
Lead mechanical work and electrical testing work done on site.
Participate in the work of updating technical documentation related to the site activities.
Plan for the projects and prepare the works (tools & equipment, spare parts, documentation).
Report on the progress of work. (Daily reporting, Smartsheet management, progress charts and documentation).
Carry out quality monitoring and traceability of works (NCR’s, reports, Quality plans, etc).
Perform all the administrative tasks related to the position and to various missions entrusted to the role (Close out reporting, lessons learnt etc).
Ensure the security and strengthen the EHS culture of all stakeholders under their responsibility in accordance with the GE lifesaving principles and GE EHS policies.
Requirements
The candidate requires mechanical engineering expertise at graduate level or equivalent experience, with a good level of the technical understanding of general electrical engineering.
Significant experience in mechanical/electrical (maintenance field) and team supervision preferably experienced in working in Live HV environments.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Good knowledge of safety and the environment.
Willing and able to frequently travel globally (including off shore / sea platforms) for extended periods of time, often at short notice.
