About this role
Role Overview
Leading the development, continuous improvement and operation of ClimatePal certification systems, methodologies, registries and related system documents
Supporting the recognition and positioning of ClimatePal systems under relevant regulatory and voluntary carbon market frameworks, incl. the EU Carbon Removal & Carbon Farming Regulation, ISCC PLUS, ISCC CORSIA and Paris Agreement Article 6.2, as well as biodiversity and ecosystem services approaches
Reviewing and evaluating project documentation related to greenhouse gas mitigation across sectors such as forestry, agriculture, peatlands and bioenergy
Operating the ClimatePal registry and maintaining high-quality project and certification documentation
Providing technical guidance to project developers, auditors, validation and verification bodies, incl. the development of trainings and technical documentation
Monitoring developments in voluntary carbon markets and relevant regulatory frameworks and updating system documents, templates, and certification methodologies
Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the carbon markets ecosystem
Contributing to public outreach activities through online content and presentations at events
Supporting the development of additional certification systems for environmental attribute certificates or carbon footprint
Requirements
University degree in a relevant field such as environmental engineering, environmental studies, bioeconomy, energy management, natural sciences, life sciences, economics or business
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including solid expertise in carbon crediting and their frameworks, e.g. CDM or voluntary standards
Strong professional network in carbon markets
Very good understanding of certification systems and relevant EU legislation
Experience in areas such as GHG accounting, forestry, agriculture, bioenergy is an advantage
Strong analytical, strategic and organisational skills combined with a hands-on mindset
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with high intercultural competence
High level of integrity, reliability and professionalism
Excellent English and German language skills (minimum C1 level required)
