About this role
Role Overview
Cultivate and expand HUB’s relationships with domestic carriers, MGAs, and the Lloyd’s marketplace; serve as a senior point of contact and advocate for HUB’s commercial lines book.
Support the Chief Marketing Officer in strategic carrier reviews by contributing market insights, relationship intelligence, and placement data to inform appetite shifts and growth opportunities.
Stay current on market trends, coverage developments, and competitive intelligence; translate insights into actionable placement strategies and team education.
Engage in identifying, developing, and supporting niche, affinity, and specialty solutions in partnership with the Director, Programs and Products and various internal stakeholders.
Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day direction to the Commercial Lines Marketing team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Champion the development and growth of team members through mentorship, coaching, and ongoing professional development.
Oversee the marketing and placement of commercial risks across the region, including large, complex, and other challenging accounts, ensuring preferred and competitive terms are secured for new and renewal business.
Partner closely with Producers, Chief Sales Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer to provide strategic support for HUB’s Top 200 and key Stewardship accounts.
Engage with HUB’s broader network including Claims, Underwriting, Sales, Risk Services, and Specialty Practice Leaders to support complex client needs.
Drive internal education and communication across HUB on insurer appetite, product availability, and market conditions.
Represent HUB at insurer meetings, industry events, and conferences; occasional travel required.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of progressive commercial insurance experience, with at least 3 years in leadership or management capacity.
Active Level 2 General Insurance License (BC).
Deep technical expertise across commercial lines products, policy wordings, and market placement, including demonstrated experience with complex and large-account risks.
Established insurer and MGA relationships across domestic markets, with Lloyd’s market experience required.
Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate market intelligence and organizational goals into operational outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to influence positive placement outcomes through market relationships, negotiation, and creative risk solutions.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present and influence at the senior leadership level.
Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and sound judgment in complex or ambiguous situations.
Collaborative approach with a demonstrated ability to build trust across producers, service teams, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP designation preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with EPIC or similar broker management systems is an asset.
