Under the guidance of the Line Manager, Medical Science Manager (MSM) drives the implementation of the Country medical affairs plans related primarily to KOL engagement, scientific data generation support and data dissemination.
Through compliant scientific exchange, builds and maintains professional relationships with external stakeholders to expand Sobi’s research, advisory and educational partnership opportunities.
Ensure high standard of professionalism to develop and maintain “peer-to-peer” scientific relationships with key opinion leaders in healthcare, academia, payer, and government organizations per strategic territory plans and as requested by KOLs, including the management of strategic scientific partnerships and scientific exchange.
Provide scientific liaison support to Investigators currently involved in Sobi’s studies (company sponsored interventional or non-interventional studies and investigator-initiated studies).
Participate in KOL engagement planning, maintain KOL plans and update medical customer relationship management system (CRM) in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
Serve as a liaison between healthcare practitioners (HCPs) and Sobi medical affairs.
Contribute to effective and compliant data dissemination according to country medical affairs plan.
Ensure appropriate scientific exchange with HCPs by fostering fair and balanced medical and scientific communications that are not misleading.
Present clinical and disease-related information to a variety of audiences (KOLs, HCPs, hospital/decision making teams, etc.) upon requests and/or according to country medical plans.
Support data dissemination at congresses/seminars/workshops according to country medical plans.
May be involved in responding, within defined timelines and quality standards, to unsolicited medical inquiries from HCPs and other stakeholders received by Medical Affairs and referred to MA by other Sobi functions.
Conduct therapeutic training for Sales and Medical colleagues upon request.
Communicate key medical insights from KOLs/HCPs to inform refinement of medical strategies or tactics.
Provide field-based medical support to Sobi’s clinical research programs, registries, and facilitation of the investigator-initiated research process.
Requirements
University Degree level education in a medical-science background or other, related and relevant discipline.
Demonstrated scientific/medical reading, presentation and communication skills.
Experience in both pre-launch and launch activities.
Experience of strong engagement with KOLs network in local country and/or internationally.
Multi-stakeholder project management and leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
Knowledge of health system and healthcare decision making, including regulatory, safety, legal and compliance environment.
Strong customer orientation, science based and business acumen, negotiation skills.
Highest levels of personal integrity, with a strong personal commitment to adhere to all rules, regulations, Standard Operating Procedures and the Sobi values and ethics, compliance with rules and regulations.
Frequent travel is required. Availability to travel approx. 40% of time, predominantly domestically.
Availability to attend meetings on holidays and weekends with advance notice.
Clean and valid driver’s license.
Average computer skills (MS Office, databases, etc.) and fluency in written and spoken English. Other languages are an asset.
