Own Database Reliability by driving high availability and disaster recovery strategies
Define and execute the scalability roadmap, including partitioning and sharding strategies
Perform deep-dive query optimization and proactive bottleneck remediation
Build and manage scalable inference and connection pooling strategies and robust backup/restore automations
Design the monitoring architecture and define SLIs/SLOs for database health
Implement banking-grade security practices, including credential management
Collaborate with product teams to ensure database schema changes support high-load environments
Set the technical bar for the DBA function through mentoring and hands-on implementation

5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in high-load, production environments
Advanced knowledge of index design (B-tree, GIN, GiST, BRIN), partitioning, and vacuum tuning
Proven experience designing streaming replication, clustering, and automated backup validation
Hands-on experience with cloud-managed PostgreSQL (specifically GCP) and Linux systems administration
Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD workflows (GitLab, ArgoCD)
Expertise in complex queries, stored procedures, and functions
Experience building monitoring and alerting for databases (Prometheus/Grafana)
Fluent in English
