Develop and enforce security best practices for Amentum to include industry standards such as encryption, role-based access control and compliance auditing.
Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and system resource management.
Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and reliability.
Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Plan and execute database and server upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
Implement security measures, including encryption, authentication, and auditing to protect data.
Serve as DBMS subject matter expert on team with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to support application development and troubleshooting.
Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Typically 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
