Develops plans and specifications, performs analysis, and provides reports to meet project requirements for design and construction of new power delivery facilities or operation and maintenance of existing facilities
Prepares engineering analysis and cost estimates for small projects that may include preliminary design, calculations, life-cycle costs, and equipment selection
Assists with estimating, pricing, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
Provides technical support and input in the resolution of equipment and operational problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects on a project
Utilizes computer software to create detailed dimensional schematics, drawings and design layouts and other visual aids
Assists upper-level engineers as directed while developing specialized engineering skills
Develops, fosters, and maintains client relationships
Participates in and ensures QC/QA procedures are followed
Maintains accurate design standards and procedures in assigned work
Cooperates and coordinates with other engineers, designers, and technicians on project activities
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in electrical or civil engineering from ABET accredited four-year college or university
English language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
Mathematical skills: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc., as well as proficiency with specialized engineering design software
CDEGS preferred and AutoCAD or MicroStation experience required
Organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize tasks; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Remote connectivity device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, etc.) with data plan sufficient for company requirements
