Review and verify cost of goods sold calculations, validate supporting documentation, and ensure accurate and timely posting to the general ledger.
Monitor and control overhead allocations, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and oversee account reconciliations and internal controls.
Prepare and review lease accounting statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842 / IFRS 16), including right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
Perform and review intercompany reconciliations, resolve variances, ensure timely settlements, and verify that eliminations are accurate and appropriate.
Lead month-end close activities, review and validate balance sheet reconciliations, and support year-end financial reporting, audit schedules, and related documentation.
Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and align them with operational leaders.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Progress toward CPA designation or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
More than 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong expertise and substantial exposure to complex financial reporting and general ledger management.
Experience managing monthly and annual close processes, including preparation for external audits.
Strong knowledge of lease accounting standards (ASC 842 / IFRS 16) and intercompany accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high rigor and strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and mentor/support junior team members as needed.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Prior experience in the entertainment, production, or visual effects industry is an asset.
Prior experience with NetSuite is an asset.
