Work within the Kaushansky laboratory at the Center for Global Infectious Disease Research
Split time between lab management responsibilities and working on malaria research project
Engage in both in vitro and in vivo systems
Plan and conduct experiments including mammalian cell culture and mouse models
Independently evaluate, select and apply standardized scientific procedures and techniques
Contribute to planning, design, execution and interpretation of experiments
Make detailed observations, record and analyze data
Assist in preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations and grant proposals
Present results/papers at technical meetings
May participate in training/mentoring of junior staff

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline; may require a Master’s Degree for certain lab specialties
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related area/laboratory setting
Significant experience conducting research in area of specialization
Some experience with laboratory management
