About this role
Role Overview
- Provide accurate assignment of ICD-10 codes for medical records
- Review medical records to identify diagnoses and procedures
- Abstract diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system
- Monitor assigned work queues and manage documentation encounters
- Collaborate with Coding Supervisor on specific problem accounts
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a hospital inpatient setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Demonstrated knowledge of coding guidelines
- Minimum of one certification such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CIC
- Strong detail orientation and problem-solving skills
