Balance Sheet Controller – CIB, Treasury

Role Overview

• Coordinate External Financial Reporting Risk (FRR) and ownership of the Balance Sheet Attestation Tool across the Group
• Review of the briefing notes for the full Absa Group Balance Sheet
• Chair Finance Risk Metrics meetings
• Support the Head of Balance Sheet Control
• Ensure the operation of a robust FRR Governance process
• Provide appropriate management information to process owners
• Monitor and track remediation plans resulting from the above
• Engage with external auditors on Financial Reporting Risk
• Coordinate Monthly, Quarterly and Annual commentary on Balance Sheet movements
• Understand the Groups Financial Reporting processes, systems, Controls, policies and frameworks
• Provide support to other process executors through motivation and employee engagement
• Provide inputs and execution of quality control and process improvements

Requirements

• CA(SA)
• 4+ years’ post-articles experience
• Experience in finance, preferably in a financial institution
• Ability to use analytical review tools to analyze and interpret financial data
