Perform engineering design tasks for roadway, municipal, rail and port projects from preliminary to final design
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
Begin to foster relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, FDOT and state clients, as well as private clients
Provide engineering design services for traditional design and design-build highway projects
Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including but not limited to implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans
Assist in coordinating design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers
Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance
Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective actions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation related engineering; required
0 to 2 years of experience designing transportation/roadway engineering projects; required
Previous internship experience desired
EIT licensure or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date; required
Software experience required: Microstation/Geopak, OpenRoads Designer Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe Acrobat
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation); required
Availability and willingness to travel
