Responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and service to our customers.
Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software.
Assist with projects, upgrades, new installations, and advanced services.
Work independently or as part of a small site team.
Maintain quality control hardware and software.
Answer customer questions about the state of the ABB system.
Resolve customer service-related issues while fostering customer relationships.
Communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors, and ABB personnel.
On-call for 24-hour emergency support service requests.
Document work performed for periodic preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks.
Play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers.
Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments.
Apply safety rules and safe practices during all service activities.
Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities at customer sites and report unsafe practices and incidents.
Identify new service business opportunities in close cooperation with customers and ABB teams.
Coach technicians and engineers, and supervise complex site activities.
Requirements
Associate’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related experience required; OR HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of related experience required.
Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety; ability to use electrical test equipment
Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical systems
Ability to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC.
Comfortable using basic hand tools.
Basic understanding of the paper making process and process control preferred; Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
Travel up to 15% for training and assisting other sites as needed.
