About this role
Role Overview
Develop the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes
Research engineering and design issues, evaluates alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues
Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities
Develop or revise design/procurement specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes
Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes
Develop licensing screens and evaluations that support engineering design changes
Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
4-6 years of engineering experience
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
State registration as a Professional Engineer (for Sr Nuclear Engineer position)
Proficient in engineering theories and principles
Proficient in principles of project management
Experience in the utility industry
Strong background in Mechanics of Materials
Experience performing Finite Element Analysis
Working knowledge of Structural Analysis software (ANSYS, GTStrudl, or similar)
Experience with Dynamic/Seismic Structural Analysis
Working level knowledge of Stress Analysis software programs (SuperPipe, AutoPipe, Caesar II)
Working knowledge of ASME Codes (examples: B31.1, Section III, Section IX, Section XI), AISC Steel Construction Codes (ASD, LFRD, and ACI Concrete Design Code)
Familiarity with Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
